Enrolments

Enrolment days happen in the school holidays prior to the commencement of the term. Please ensure you complete an enrolment form and pay your fees prior to commencing the SPLASH Swim Program.

Classes (duration 30 min) 

Swim intructors will assess your child's current skills and place in the relevant level:

Parents and Bubs, Learn to Swim, Stroke Correction, Squad or Adults

Classes are currently held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons during school terms (10 weeks) between 3:30pm-6pm.

Makeup classes are NOT available if unable to attend a lesson.

Access is at the second awning (once entering the driveway proceed around the corner to the right). The pool is located in the Parameadows School grounds. Access is restricted to the general public. Upon arrival please ring the buzzer, located at head high level on the left of the doors. The Swim instructor is usually in the pool conducting lessons, someone will let you in usually between lessons. Please be patient. 

When leaving the building the swim instructor will place the access card on the table to the left of the door, as you leave, please swipe the card to exit the building and REPLACE card on the table. 

Swim Instructor

Our swim instructors are AUSTSWIM or SWIM AUSTRALIA qualified and possess current first aid certificates and Working with Children Checks. 

What to bring

  • Towel 

  • Swimming attire 

  • Swim cap or hair tie for long hair (optional) 

  • Goggles (optional) 

  • Children under 3 are required to swim nappies 

  • Appropriate clothing and footwear to change after the lessons. 

It is a good idea to have your children in their swimming attire upon arrival, this alleviates any lesson time that may be missed due to the entry and exit procedures.

Payment 

Small Group Classes are $15 per lesson, Private Lessons are $40 per lesson - Concessions may apply, First Laps and Active Kids Vouchers accepted. Payments can be made in office via cash or through internet banking. Reminder: Makeup classes not available. Fees for the whole term are required as an upfront payment prior to start date. There is NO EFTPOS available.

Communications

Details of enrolment dates and times for the next term are sent via email. If enrolment information hasn’t been received please do not hesitate to contact the Swim Coordinator at the Port Kembla Youth Project on 0434938480. 

Please inform the swim coordinator of any medical considerations that your child may have. This is important so the swim instructor is aware of the health and safety of your child and other children. 

Conditions of Entry

Pool Rules:

  1. Only children enrolled in the swim program have access to the pool. 

  2. Access to the pool is restricted to the lesson time. Parents, siblings are not allowed to use the pool. 

  3. Children are not to be left at lessons unsupervised; a responsible adult must be in attendance at all times. 

  4. There is no access to other areas of the school; participants are to proceed directly to the pool area upon arrival and to the exit upon leaving. 

  5. All children under 7 years of age must be accompanied by an adult to the toilet or shower. 

  6. All children/parents attending the Parameadows facility are to follow the directions as set out in the parent information sheet, conditions of entry and as directed by the Swim instructor or Swim Coordinator. 

  7. Children must wear shoes to and from the pool area. 

  8. Children under 3 are required to wear a swim nappy. 

Splash Swim Program Rules:

  1. Fees must be made in full for the term prior to commencing the Swim program. 

  2. The Swim Coordinator must be notified of any changes to your child/ren’s enrolment as soon as possible. This includes absences due to illness. 

  3. Any incidents must be reported to the Swim Coordinator. 

  4. Make-up lessons are not available 

  5. If your child misses 3 or more consecutive lessons due to illness you may apply for a credit. 

  6. Occupancy rates determine whether a class will be cancelled. In the event that a class is not operating at 60% capacity the swim coordinator may contact you to transfer to an alternative class. Cancellation of classes is at the discretion of the swim coordinator 

  7. If there has been an incident, including faecal matter or vomit in the pool, the pool must be closed immediately and all lessons cancelled. 

  8. We run quality learning experiences in a positive and safe environment. Any inappropriate or dangerous behaviour shown by a parent or child should be reported and could result in a termination of lessons.
